All boys and girls grades 3 - 8 are invited to participate in the Ski Club. All levels of experience are welcome. Enjoy 5 weeks of skiing or snow boarding Tuesday nights from 3:00 - 7:00 at Powder Ridge in Middlefield. Parents are responsible for transportation and all associated fees. If you are interested, please look for more information in October.

Future Musicians Program

Once a week, FMI comes to the school to teach children in grades 4-8 how to play a band instrument. Students can learn how to play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or drums.

Private and group lessons are held during the school day. Parents pay a reasonable fee for a weekly lesson and instrument rental. Watch for a pamphlet from FMI to come home in September.

Liberty Bank Saving Program

Liberty Bank will once again be offering a school savings program. This program was started a number years ago to give our students the ability to bank at school each week. This program, developed by Save for America, is approved by the U.S. Department of Education and Liberty Bank is licensed to offer it.

Key points to remember when making deposits at school:

1) Only deposits are accepted at school. Withdrawals and additional deposits can be made at any Liberty Bank Office

2) A monthly account statement will be mailed to each student's home by Liberty Bank

Girl Scouts

Is your daughter interested in becoming a Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie or Junior?

All girls in grades K through 4 are welcome to attend our meetings, which are held afterschool at the SJS Community Center, twice a month. Activities usually include a craft, snack and work toward a badge. There is always time to sing and visit at the end of every meeting.

The mission of the Girl Scout program is to inspire all girls to the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and community service, so that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. The goal is to help girls develop to their true potential.

Girl Scouting is strong at St John's! New troops will be forming in Fall ‘04. Some troops will need adult volunteers to act as leaders. Watch for a notice in your daughter's folder.
